CTIS
The Clinical Trials Information System, or CTIS, is the European Union's single portal for applying to run a clinical trial and for publishing it, and each record lists the member states whose regulator has taken a decision on the trial and the sites in each.
Why it matters here
CTIS is the register we read for a European footprint, because a member state listed there is a regulator's decision, whereas a country on a ClinicalTrials.gov record is a sponsor's intent; in our opinion confusing the two is the commonest error in coverage of European trials.
A CTIS record carries the member states concerned and a site count per state; the sixth brenipatide record, for instance, lists France, Germany, the Netherlands and Poland (CTIS 2025-522640-41-00). The register publishes no primary completion date, which is why our trial rows leave that field empty for CTIS records rather than filling it.
